Contract: Full-time (5 days per week)
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm
Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience)
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Years Teaching Assistant to join a supportive SEN school in Haringey. This is a full-time role working with children in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs.
You will play a key role in helping young learners develop socially, emotionally, and academically within a nurturing and structured environment.
Key Responsibilities
Support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) on a 1:1 and small group basis
Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging EYFS-based learning activities
Help create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
Support children with communication, behaviour, and emotional regulation
Assist with personal care where required
Monitor and record student progress and provide feedback to staff
Promote positive behaviour and support individual learning plans
Requirements
Valid Enhanced DBS check
Experience working with children in Early Years (EYFS) settings
Experience supporting children with SEN (e.g. ASD, speech & language needs, SEMH)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
