SALARY: £35,000 to £38,000 per annum + Benefits
LOCATION: Hyde, Greater Manchester

WORKING HOURS: 35 hours per week, 9.00am - 5.00pm Monday - Friday (60 minutes unpaid lunch break)

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an HSE Compliance Officer who has a background in regulatory compliance, health and safety, and governance within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Working across departments, the HSE Compliance Officer will support compliance monitoring, internal audits, environmental initiatives, and regulatory reporting to ensure the organisation meets UK legislation and industry standards.
As a HSE Compliance Officer you will help manage compliance registers, support audits, maintain regulatory documentation, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across safety, environmental and operational processes.

DUTIES
Your duties as the HSE Compliance Officer include:
• Regulatory Compliance Monitoring: Track regulatory updates and maintain compliance registers covering environmental, packaging and product-related legislation
• Environmental Compliance Management: Conduct ESOS gap analysis, monitor carbon footprint data and support energy management system compliance
• Packaging and Tax Compliance: Manage Plastic Packaging Tax obligations including reporting, documentation and regulatory submissions
• Producer Responsibility Reporting: Ensure compliance with Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) requirements and packaging data reporting
• Standards and Certification Compliance: Maintain documentation and adherence to industry standards such as OEKO-TEX guidelines
• Audit Preparation: Support preparation for external inspections, regulatory reviews and internal compliance audits
• Health and Safety Support: Assist with risk assessments, Safe Systems of Work (SSOW), and workplace safety documentation
• Chemical Safety Compliance: Maintain chemical inventories, Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and support COSHH assessments
• Incident Investigation Support: Assist with accident investigations, record keeping and monitoring corrective actions
• Compliance Systems Support: Assist with implementation and integration of compliance processes within Microsoft Dynamics 365 systems
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
ESSENTIAL
• Previous experience in a compliance, regulatory or health and safety role within a manufacturing or industrial environment
• NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent qualification
• Good understanding of UK regulatory, environmental, packaging, product and health and safety legislation
• Experience preparing for or supporting internal and external audits and regulatory inspections
• Experience supporting risk assessments, COSHH assessments and safe systems of work
• Ability to interpret legislation and maintain compliance registers, reports and documentation
• Strong organisational, analytical and communication skills with the ability to work across multiple departments
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, for compliance reporting and data management
DESIRABLE
• Experience working with chemical compliance or COSHH management processes
• Experience supporting quality, environmental or health and safety management systems such as ISO standards
• Experience using ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365)
