Are you a dynamic and motivated individual with strong leadership skills? If so Bolton Mental Health Liaison Service is seeking to recruit a Team Manager Band 7 to provide operational management and leadership to the Mental Health Liaison Service.

The Liaison Service has been established for over 10 years and comprises of a dynamic and welcoming team of psychiatrists, senior practitioners, practitioners as well as a clinical psychologist. The team has senior level input into the local and GM strategic vision for liaison services.

By working alongside The Royal Bolton Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Mental Health Liaison Service staff have the opportunity to be involved in the care of people experiencing a number of physical illnesses. Mental Health Liaison Service practitioners have the opportunity to develop knowledge and skills within these specialties in addition to this Mental Health Liaison Practitioners are also able to provide teaching and clinical support to acute trust staff providing collaborative care to people.

The post holder is responsible for the day‑to‑day operational management, leadership, and ongoing development of the multidisciplinary Mental Health Liaison Service (MHLS). The role ensures that Royal Bolton Hospital (RBH) delivers an efficient and effective response for individuals presenting to the Accident and Emergency Department (A&E), or admitted electively or non‑electively to medical wards, with suspected mental health needs or co‑morbid mental health difficulties.

The service provides a responsive, 24/7 offer for people who may be experiencing underlying mental illness—whether functional or organic. It does not cover individuals seeking detox or treatment solely for alcohol or substance misuse, or those whose physical complications relate only to substance use.
