About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 6 Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a supportive Primary (PRI) school team at Jubilee Mossley Academy, Walsall (WS1). The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff to support pupils in Year 6, helping them to build confidence, develop key skills, and prepare for the transition to secondary school.
This role involves providing both classroom and small group support, ensuring pupils are fully engaged in their learning and able to achieve their potential.
Key Responsibilities
•
Support pupils within a Year 6 classroom environment
•
Assist the class teacher with delivering engaging lessons and learning activities
•
Provide targeted support to individuals or small groups of pupils
•
Help pupils develop confidence in core subjects such as English and Maths
•
Support pupils in preparing for SATs and end-of-year assessments
•
Help maintain a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment
•
Follow school safeguarding and behaviour policies
Requirements
•
Previous experience working in a primary school setting
•
Experience supporting KS2 pupils, ideally in Year 6
•
Strong communication and teamwork skills
•
A patient, supportive and positive approach to working with children
•
Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
Desirable
•
Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
•
Experience supporting SATs preparation
•
Experience working with pupils with additional learning needs
