ADDITIONAL SUPPORT CHILDCARE WORKER
Out of School Club – North Edinburgh
8.5 hours per week | Mon/Wed/Thu, 2:40–5:30pm | Term Time (38 weeks)
Hourly rate: National Minimum Wage (age/qualification bar applies)
North Edinburgh Childcare is looking for an enthusiastic, caring and motivated individual to join our well established Out of School Team. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a child’s life while working within a supportive, experienced staff team.
About the Role
The successful candidate will provide one to one support for a school aged child with recognised additional support needs, helping them participate fully in our busy, vibrant Out of School Club. You’ll work closely with colleagues to create a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment where children can learn, play and thrive.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking someone who brings:-
• Strong communication skills
• Empathy, patience and resilience
• A genuine enthusiasm for children’s learning and development
• A willingness to learn, participate and engage in a wide range of activities
• An understanding of how to support children with additional needs (an ASN qualification is desirable but not essential)
Applicants must have — or be willing to work towards — the relevant childcare qualification required for a childcare facing role.
✔️ Eligibility Requirements
All applicants must be able to:
• Register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) at Practitioner level
• Become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme
• Work in the UK and provide the necessary documentation
