Summary
Job Summary The Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) will work as an autonomous practitioner within the clinical team, providing high-quality, patient-centred care. The post holder will be an experienced and compassionate nurse with advanced clinical skills and the ability to demonstrate critical thinking while working within professional boundaries. The ANP will make safe and effective clinical decisions, delivering expert assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation for patients presenting with minor illness and ongoing medical needs. Key Responsibilities Provide advanced clinical nursing care using expert knowledge, clinical judgement and evidence-based practice. Assess, triage, diagnose and treat patients through face-to-face consultations, undertaking comprehensive examinations and developing appropriate care plans. Request and interpret diagnostic tests in line with agreed protocols and refer patients to primary or secondary care when required. Prescribe and review medications as an independent prescriber in accordance with national guidelines and practice protocols. Maintain patient confidentiality, dignity and safe clinical practice within professional competencies. Deliver compassionate, holistic care that promotes health, self-care and independence. Maintain accurate patient records, manage urgent consultations, collect clinical specimens according to protocols and contribute to practice targets and quality standards. Participate in safeguarding, staff training, professional development, audits and research activities while ensuring compliance with data protection, health and safety, infection control and equality policies.
