As an Estates Technical Support in our UK and Europe, Defence Academy team, you’ll help keep essential projects and daily operations running smoothly so colleagues can focus on delivering training and education that touch thousands of lives. Your work helps ensure the environment is safe, efficient and ready for the future needs of the Defence Academy.
You’ll support the Estates team in delivering projects and operational activity on time, on budget and to an auditable standard. Your organisational strengths and proactive approach will play a key role in contributing to a positive impact on the Defence Academy community and the wider purpose our work serves.
What you’ll do as an Estates Technical Support
You’ll be entrusted to:
· Book visitors onto site, manage sign‑in processes, issue keys and support contractor access.
· Operate and administer the CAFM (Computer‑Aided Facilities Management) system, including closing completed work orders.
· Monitor target dates for work orders to avoid potential breaches of service level agreements.
· Complete administrative tasks for the Estates team including plotting, printing, filing and checks on operations and maintenance documentation.
· Maintain the technical library in both digital and hard copy formats, including updating SharePoint.
· Support meetings by preparing agendas and minutes.
· Update systems such as SV (Service Variations), ARCS and SharePoint.
· Co‑ordinate daily team tasks and support colleagues across Estates as required.
· Maintain stationery levels and manage reordering.
· Produce, amend and maintain spreadsheets, databases and documentation including work instructions.
· Liaise with the Service Desk and end users at all levels.
· Provide cover and shadowing for other posts when required.

You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have:
· A good level of general education, ideally GCSEs (A–C) or equivalent in English and Maths.
· Strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively using different methods.
· Proven organisational abilities and confidence managing your own workload.
· The ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
· Problem‑solving skills and the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
This role requires BPSS clearance, which involves identity verification, employment history, and criminal record checks to meet government security standards. An Occupational Health Questionnaire will also be required to ensure we can offer appropriate support for your wellbeing and performance.
