What you'll do:
- Lead the onsite Security Operations team, ensuring a professional, efficient, and compliant security service across the site.
- Oversee daily shift operations, ensuring security incidents and operational issues are managed quickly, calmly, and effectively.
- Coordinate emergency responses including fire alarms, intruder alerts, and safety incidents, following all site procedures.
- Support the security team through effective leadership, including managing staff rotas, onboarding new team members, and conducting training and competency checks.
- Carry out annual performance reviews and support the ongoing development of team members.
- Maintain accurate site records including incident reports, safety documentation, and operational logs.
- Monitor and manage security systems including CCTV, access control, alarms, and patrol systems.
- Conduct site patrols, vehicle checks, and perimeter inspections to protect site assets and ensure a safe environment.
- Manage visitor and contractor access to site, ensuring all inductions and procedures are followed correctly.
- Liaise with management, emergency services, contractors, and statutory authorities when required.
- Promote a strong Health & Safety culture by reporting incidents, near misses, and safety concerns.
- Provide operational support within the control room, including weighbridge operations and access management.
- Drive continuous improvement across the security service by identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and service delivery.
What you'll bring:
- Previous experience in a security or facilities environment, ideally within a supervisory or team leadership role.
- A valid SIA licence (Door Supervisor or Security Guarding).
- Strong leadership and organisational skills with the ability to manage teams and shift operations effectively.
- Experience managing incidents and responding calmly to emergency situations.
- Good knowledge of Health & Safety procedures and security best practices.
- Confident communication skills with the ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues, clients, and visitors.
- Experience using security systems such as CCTV, access control systems, and incident reporting tools.
- The ability to work shifts including nights, weekends, and bank holidays.
- Strong attention to detail when maintaining records and reports.
- A proactive and professional approach with a strong sense of responsibility for site safety and security.
- A full clean driving licence would be beneficial.
