Summary
On call Radiographers must attend to a call within 1 hour of the initial phone call, therefore good time management is essential. They must be able to work independently, without supervision within the Imaging Department and extra-departmentally, complying with the local rules as a requirement of the Ionising Radiations Regulations (IRR17). They must be able to address the patient's health and wellbeing. This includes modification of techniques involving the manipulation of patient's and equipment, to obtain diagnostic images, in keeping with the as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA) principle as part of the Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations IR (ME)R 2018. Comply with Trust Health & Safely policies, including attendance at specified mandatory training sessions. To comply with departmental and organisational policies and procedures, including reporting of all accidents and incidents.
