Summary

Supertemps is recruiting on behalf of a well-established organisation within the tourism and hospitality sector for an experienced Head Chef to lead culinary operations within a busy, high-volume restaurant and bar environment based in Porthmadog.

This popular hospitality venue operates within a major tourist attraction in the heart of Snowdonia and welcomes a large number of visitors throughout the year. The restaurant delivers a high standard of service throughout the day, making this an exciting opportunity for a skilled chef who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys leading a team to deliver exceptional food and service.

Key Responsibilities include:

    • Leading and motivating the kitchen team to deliver high standards of food preparation and presentation
    • Overseeing all culinary operations within a busy hospitality venue
    • Planning and developing innovative menus that appeal to a wide range of customers
    • Managing kitchen workflow efficiently during high-volume service periods
    • Maintaining strict food safety and hygiene standards
    • Controlling stock levels, food costs, and inventory management
    • Ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly during peak tourism and service periods

    We would love to see your CV if you have:

      • Extensive culinary knowledge and strong technical cooking skills
      • Experience working as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef within a high-volume kitchen
      • The ability to remain calm, organised, and decisive under pressure
      • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
      • Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities with great attention to detail
      • Experience in menu development, cost control, and stock management
      • A creative approach and passion for delivering high-quality food
      • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practice
      • The ability to speak Welsh would be advantageous, as would knowledge of the local tourism or hospitality sector.

      Due to the nature of the role, the successful candidate must be flexible and able to work a range of shifts including evenings and weekends to meet the demands of a busy hospitality operation.

      What’s on Offer

        • Starting salary in the region of £34,000 – £35,000 (negotiable depending on experience)
        • Permanent, full-time position
        • Minimum of 28 days paid holiday, including bank holidays
