Summary


We’re excited to offer this opportunity within our Admin & Clerical workforce to support the departmental Sister/Clinical Leads with clerical and administrative support in the day to day running of the Day surgery unit.

Welcome patients and visitors to the ward, answer appropriate questions and provide relevant information in a sensitive manner, referring to qualified members of the team as necessary.

Undertake clerical and administrative duties on behalf of the ward; liaise with individual team members and other departments as required in a manner that will contribute to the effective and efficient running of the ward.

Base Location: Poole

• To assist with all aspects of clerical, administrative and housekeeping duties on the day Surgery Unit on behalf of the department
• To process and file notes ensuring that they are appropriately organised in the Trusts standard format on completion of procedures in preparation for scanning
• Be responsible for up-dating the Bed Managers with accurate and up-to-date information by maintaining up to date electronic systems. (EPR, ecamis)
• Access and review theatre lists to ensure medical notes are prepared for elective admissions.
• To be responsible for booking Outpatient appointments for those patients requesting Termination of pregnancy, and to liaise with closely with GP’s, Consultant Gynaecology and other members of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure efficient use of the service
• To provide IT support to the nursing team
• To take on the responsibility of fire warden role for the department by completing the monthly checks and reporting any concerns to the Fire Safety Officer and line manager
• To organise own workload to ensure that the priorities of the service needs are met

If a role or service relocates as part of a planned move, excess mileage will not be reimbursed. Travel from home to the new work base will be classed as a normal commute. Any other changes will be managed under Trust or national terms and conditions.
