Summary
EQUANS are looking for a Mobile Fire Door Inspector working on our Knowsley Schools contract in Liverpool – this will cover a variety of sites across the North West. This role would be a permanent full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package. General Overview: The Fire Door Inspector will ensure safety of the public by identifying, investigating, and reducing risk. They will be responsible for developing effective relationships and ensuring that pro-active communication is maintained continuously with all internal & external stakeholders. They will plan and prioritise work within recognised safe systems of work, business policies, procedures and in accordance with all aspects of health and safety legislation. They will participate in a one team approach to the allocation of duties, supporting and working effectively with colleagues to provide good working relationships within the University of Sheffield contract and wider NW&C region. The Fire Door Inspector will report into the Fire Door Supervisor. Impact: The Fire Door Inspector will have accountability for the inspection of fire door within the University Accommodation Buildings.The individual must work and lead in accordance with the EQUANS values be reliable, conscientious, and professional at all times. They must be effective in communication and have the ability to deal with internal and external stakeholders on all levels. They must be able to work on their own initiative whilst adhering to set procedures, have good time management and organisational skills and show a flexible attitude to working patterns. Complexity: The role consists of, but is not limited to the following activities: •Carrying out inspection of fire doors at each site in a timely, efficient and cost-effective manner. •Using the Bolster app on the PDA (tablet) to follow a check list to report on the status of each fire door. •Building professional relationships with clients. •Maintaining accurate and precise documentation of works completed. •Following process to ensure each inspection is completed correctly. •Be responsible for keeping the company vehicle clean, tidy and presentable. •Handling tools of various types and ensuring safe set up. •Adhering to safety guidelines whilst on the job site. •Ensuring all tools and machinery are kept clean and in good repair. •Ensuring all specifications are met.•Good communication skills.•Liaise and undertake duties at other EQUANS projects as directed by Senior Management Qualifications or Required Experience: •Experience of carrying out Fire Door Inspections is essential .•Recognised Fire Door Inspection qualifications (FDIS, BRE etc) .•Ability to work unsupervised. •A sound understanding of Health and Safety Legislation (SMSTS, IOSH or NEBOSH). •Confident communicator with excellent customer interaction skills. •Ability to manage and prioritise workload. •Administration skills, including use of CAFM system and Microsoft Office applications.
