Your New Company
Hays Human Resources are working with a well‑established organisation in Huddersfield who require an experienced HR Advisor to provide specialist support during a busy operational period. You will join a collaborative team where you'll play a key role in maintaining high standards of HR service delivery.
Your New Role
As the Temporary HR Advisor, you will focus predominantly on employee relations casework. You will work closely with managers to provide expert guidance across a broad range of ER issues and ensure compliance with employment legislation and internal policy.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a varied ER caseload, including disciplinaries, grievances, investigations, absence management, conduct, and performance issues
- Coaching and supporting line managers to handle cases confidently and consistently
- Preparing documentation, letters, meeting notes, and outcome reports
- Ensuring accurate record‑keeping and compliance with internal processes
- Supporting HR colleagues with day‑to‑day advisory queries
- Contributing to policy updates, process improvements, and best‑practice HR standards
- Assisting with small HR projects as required during the contract period
What You'll Need to Succeed
- Previous experience in an HR Advisor or ER‑focused role
- Strong working knowledge of UK employment legislation
- Confidence managing ER cases from start to finish
- Excellent communication and coaching skills
- Ability to work independently, prioritise workload and meet deadlines
- CIPD Level 5 (desired but not essential)
