Desian Education is proud to be supporting a specialist SEMH primary school in Wigan as they are looking to appoint a number of motivated and reliable teaching assistants for long-term full-time temporary contracts starting after the easter holidays. This is an extremely supportive school that are considering applications from people with transferrable skillsets. Your new role
As a teaching assistant within this school, you will play an integral part in the education of pupils with SEMH and trauma. You will take and ECHP-led and trauma informed approach to education as to ensure that each pupils individual mental and attainment needs are met and to aid in building strong constructive relationships. You will:
- Delivering specific ELSA intervention to support emotional regulation, communication, and more
- Support pupil well-being and self-esteem
- Promote positive behaviours
- Accurately track pupil progress and recognising key milestones
What you need to succeed
- Full “Right to Work” in the UK
- Experience supporting SEMH and/or behavioural needs
- Referenceable experience supporting children and young people
- Be willing to undergo an Enhanced Children’s DBS check
