Summary

Head Chef - Prestigious Venue Near Howden

The Best Connection is currently recruiting a Head Chef for our client's prestigious venue near Howden. This is a long-term temporary opportunity within a high-end hospitality environment.

As Head Chef, you will lead the kitchen team and play a key role in delivering an exceptional dining experience. You will also be responsible for guiding and training staff in food preparation, presentation, and service standards.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience working in a fast-paced restaurant, hotel, or events environment, maintaining consistently high standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan and document daily kitchen requirements before preparing the day's dishes

  • Maintain a clean and organised food preparation area in line with COSHH and HACCP guidelines

  • Help develop and lead an exceptional kitchen team

  • Address and resolve diner and client complaints quickly and professionally

  • Monitor kitchen operations and staff to ensure high sanitation and food safety standards

  • Ensure all food products used are fresh and within expiry dates

Successful Applicants Will Have

  • Proven experience leading banqueting services or large functions

  • Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, equipment, and utensils

  • Ability to lead a team and communicate clear instructions

  • Excellent knowledge of food preparation methods and presentation

  • Understanding of how to maintain and care for culinary equipment

  • Strong leadership and conflict resolution skills

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines

  • A proactive approach to menu planning and food development

  • Excellent teamwork skills

  • Own transport due to the remote location

Hours, Pay and Benefits

  • Full-time position

  • Up to £18 per hour, depending on skills and experience

  • Minimum 40 hours per week
