Long Term Futures are recruiting for a committed and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated and welcoming primary school in Oldbury, Birmingham. This role will be working between 1:1 and group support with SEN pupils with ASD and ADHD, needing extra support. The school is seeking a calm and consistent individual who can build a strong, trusting relationship assisting the pupils to feel supported and comfortable throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing 1:1 and group support for Year 2 pupils
- Supporting students in learning and development
- Promote engagement, confidence and positive learning behaviours
- Building a trusting and safe relationship with pupils
- Encouraging the pupil to build confidence in a comfortable and reassuring environment.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Strong experience working with children with ASD and ADHD
- Understanding Key Stage 1 curriculum and adapting tasks and learning to support pupils needs
- Calm, patient and consistent approach to learning support
- Strong relationship-building skills and a positive attitude
- Ability to remain resilient and supportive in challenging situations
