Summary
To work as an autonomous independent practitioner undertaking the responsibility for the management of patients presenting in Core orthoptics services. This includes orthoptics clinics, support to paediatric clinics, adult motility clinics, school screening programme, neuro-ophthalmology clinics and EERS. Promote best practice throughout the orthoptics service and provide expert advice to Orthoptists, Medical staff, and Allied Health Professionals in the management of complex cases. To work closely with the Clinical Lead for Ophthalmic Services UHCW to deliver and oversee a comprehensive range of core orthoptic services and develop advanced extended roles relevant to the orthoptist skillset and departmental service needs whilst maintaining the highest quality of care. Responsibility for overseeing training for and to undertake specialist clinical activity requiring extensive knowledge, experience, and expertise. Responsible for undertaking diagnostic services like biometry service, Optos, OCT etc. For further details of the role please see the attached job description.
