Summary
You’ll use mixed methods to conduct research both individually and as part of the team, including realist methodology; interviews with patients, carers and NHS staff; and surveys. Some national travel will be required.
You will be expected to manage your own workload, seeking guidance and advice where necessary from the Project Manager, Chief investigators and wider research team.
This exciting project is led at UWE Bristol by Dr Zoe Anchors and Dr Laura Goodwin, within our School of Health and Social Wellbeing but is also a collaboration with colleagues at the University of Bristol, other Higher Education Institutions, NHS Trusts and Health Agencies.
Ideally you can start in the role on or as close to 1 June 2026 and it will run for 15 months.
About you
We are looking for a self-motivated individual with recent experience of conducting research within health or social care, and ideally with experience of interviewing people about health services.
You should be skilled in collecting, analysing and interpreting research data, and have familiarity with the ethical and legal requirements for health research. You should also be able to effectively contribute to report writing and dissemination. Experience with social media and/or website development is desirable.
You need to be well organised, possess strong communication skills and have the ability to work effectively as part of a team. You should be able to confidently manage your own workload, research resources and administrative activities.

In this role, you’ll be based at our Glenside Campus which is set within beautiful grounds in Stapleton, just three miles from Bristol city centre.
