Summary
Band 3 Research Administrator
Full-time post (37.5 hours per week)
The HIV, Immunology, Gastro and Hepatology Research Team (HIGH) are a supportive, and highly motivated team. This post is ideal for those who wish to build on their existing administration experience and contribute to the development of evidence-based patient care.
If you are motivated, dedicated, with exceptional organisation/planning skills and have great attention to detail and strong IT skills then this offers a fantastic opportunity for career development.
You'll be based in the Clinical Research Centre at Southmead Hospital.

1. Provide administrative support for the delivery of all aspects of research in accordance with study protocol, UK policy framework for Health and Social Care Research, ethical principles and the Trust's values and objectives, policies and legal requirements.
2. Ensure site files, case report files, and other relevant documentation are completed in accordance with ICH-GCP (inc Statutory Instruments), ISO 14155, and local, national and international legislation.
3. Advocate for the safety and well-being of patients/participants, and staff.
4. Actively promote research across the trust and wider communities
5. Communicate professionally and clearly with all patients/participants, colleagues and stakeholders
6. Demonstrate initiative relevant to your role and act as a professional role model
7. Be an upstander for addressing concerns as they arise
8. Support and educate colleagues including students and Principal Investigators (PIs)
9. Work within various research teams and clinical environments as needed
10. Play an active role in delivering a sustainable service.

Assist and co-ordinate research administration, ensuring patient safety and compliance with study protocol and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and suggest improvements as appropriate under direct supervision.
Arrange, book and record patient appointments in line with trust systems and the study protocol.
Ensure clear and efficient communication and information flow within the research team and between patient/participant, colleagues, stakeholders and external contacts.
Assist in the preparation of reports for team and the infrastructure reviews as required.
Communicate effectively in a variety of different methods with staff, patients/participants overcoming barriers to understanding and on occasion de-escalate volatile situations.
Take an active role in the care and maintenance of all equipment and consumable goods within the department. Take appropriate action in regard to faulty equipment as per SOP.
Support the cleanliness and organisation of the department, with sufficient supplies and equipment which are in working order and correctly stored at all times.
