Band 8a - Matron - Specialist Palliative and End of Life Care
Full time - 37.5 hours per week

Do you want to be part of innovative and highly motivated Senior Nurse team who are passionate about improving the specialised care we deliver to patients with specialist palliative and/or end of life needs? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Matron to join us within the Division of Intermediate Tier Services to complement the existing leadership team and contribute to the delivery of excellent patient care within both hospital and community environments. You will lead on quality improvement initiatives within the Division and with other stakeholders. Excellent communication skills and strong visible leadership will enable you to develop and empower your teams to deliver improvement projects. You will also have a passion for the development of staff whilst creating a conducive learning environment across your clinical areas.

You will have extensive clinical experience and have been in a leadership role within a specialist palliative care service setting. You will be required to work both within a team and independently to deliver Division and local objectives whilst ensuring patient care is being delivered safely and to a high standard. As Matron, you will be responsible and accountable to the Divisional Nursing and AHP Director in ensuring the daily management of teams covering both hospital and community settings and that your professional leadership enables staff, patients and relatives to engage in the way care is delivered at a local level. Matrons are pivotal in the delivery of professional standards and embodying values and behaviours, therefore you will work closely with the Senior Nursing structure to ensure these are upheld across the organisation.
