Summary

What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for a visionary educator who doesn't just "teach" Early Years, but lives and breathes it. We are a school with a unique First School environment, where the Foundation Stage isn't just a starting point - it is the heartbeat of our entire community and the core of everything we create.

Beaver Road is a larger than average, diverse primary school situated in the heart of Didsbury Village. In September 2018, we began our expansion from three forms of entry to five forms of entry across two school sites. Today, the school remains a school of choice to many families and is fully expanded, with approximately 1100 pupils aged from 3 to 11 years of age. Children from Nursery to Year 3 are based at Beaver Road First School site (M20 6SX), while children in Year 4 to Year 6 are based at our new purpose built Junior School site (M20 2RN) on Wilmslow Road.

In November 2024, Ofsted rated the school outstanding in all areas, including Early Years. This is a testament to the dedication of our staff and the commitment of our entire school community. We are looking for teachers who share this passion for excellence and are determined to not only maintain but build upon these high standards for the benefit of every pupil.

“Children get off to a flying start in the early years where their learning prepares them very well for the demands of key stage 1.”Ofsted, November 2024

“The school has created a culture of ambition and continuous improvement for staff and pupils alike. Staff are immensely proud to work at this highly inclusive school. They value the strong relationships and teamwork with their colleagues. The school considers staff’s workload to help them to fulfil their responsibilities.”Ofsted, November 2024

We are seeking to appoint an EYFS Specialist Teacher who:

• Believes wholeheartedly in the importance of Early Years; is a true advocate that champions EYFS principles and research-led ways of working that lead children to great success in their next stage of learning.
• Holds high aspirations for every learner, viewing self-regulation and Characteristics of Effective Learning as the foundation for high expectations in both behaviour and achievement.
• Understands early childhood theory and has proven experience of the EYFS Framework, driving inclusive practice that captures children’s progress meaningfully.
• Creates enabling environments, both indoors and out, where purposeful play and child-initiated exploration lead to high levels of engagement and achievement across the different areas of learning.
• Recognises parents and carers as a child’s first educator and actively seeks to build a strong partnership between home and school, as well as with other agencies and the wider EYFS team.
• Is committed to your own CPD and contributes to our school’s learning culture, staying curious about new insights into how young children think, learn and grow.

If you would like to arrange a visit prior to making an application, please contact the School Office to book an appointment.
