We are seeking aDeputy Head of International and Private Patientsto lead Evelina London’s private paediatric and international services—a key strategic priority that supports innovation and reinvestment into NHS care. These services have grown rapidly in the last five years and have ambitious plans for future growth.

Evelina London is entering a major period of expansion, including the integration of Royal Brompton paediatrics, thetransfer of children’s cancer services from The Royal Marsden, and the development of the Evelina Children’s Hospital programme. The postholder will play a key role in developing commercial opportunities to support this expansion and further develop our private patient services.

This role will suit leaders fromNHS andprivate healthcarewith astrong operational experience, a strategic mindset, commercial awareness and a passion for outstanding patient experience.The role provides opportunities for progression within NHS commercial services, international healthcare and the independent sector. It would also be suitable for NHS operational leaders looking to develop their commercial and strategic expertise.

The Deputy Head of International and Private Patients will provide senior operational leadership for Evelina London’s private paediatric and international services, supporting the continued growth and development of this strategically important portfolio.

Working closely with clinical, operational and commercial colleagues, the post-holder will lead the development and delivery of initiatives that enhance thequality, access and experience of private and international care, ensuring services operate efficiently alongside busy NHS pathways while maintaining the highest standards of patient care.

The role will provide leadership to operational and administrative teams within the International and Private Patients service. Through a team of operational managers, the post-holder will driveservice improvement, transformation and business development programmesthat support sustainable growth and outstanding patient experience.

The role requires exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills to build effective partnerships with clinicians, corporate teams and external stakeholders. The post-holder will operate confidently in complex clinical environments, balancing the needs of private and international patients with the operational realities of a large NHS organisation.

Private patient activity within the Evelina London Clinical Group takes place across several sites withinGuy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.

Key locations for the delivery of private and international services include:

•Evelina London Children’s Hospital, an internationally recognised centre of excellence for paediatric care, receiving complex referrals from across the UK and overseas.

•The Westminster Private Maternity SuiteatSt Thomas’ Hospital, providing high-quality private maternity care within one of the UK’s leading centres for women’s health.

•The Assisted Conception Unit (ACU)atGuy’s Hospital, an internationally recognised fertility service providing private treatment to both UK and overseas patients.

•Private outpatient and diagnostic facilitiesacross the trust, including Westminster Bridge Private Consulting Rooms at St Thomas’, consulting rooms atRoyal Brompton Hospital, and theWimpole Street diagnostic and outpatient facilityin the Harley Street medical district, which supports a growing portfolio of specialist services includingprivate women’s health.

Evelina London forms part ofGuy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. Following the merger withRoyal Brompton & Harefield NHS Foundation Trustin 2021, private patient services across the organisation have been brought together to form one of thelargest and most comprehensive private patient programmes within the NHS, supporting both UK and international patients.

The post-holder will work in close partnership with consultants to support the development of their private practice. Acting as a key point of contact for consultants across a portfolio of specialties, they will provide proactive account management, strengthen consultant engagement and identify opportunities to expand and develop private and international services.

A core responsibility will be theline management and leadership of operational managers and administrative teamsdelivering private patient services. The post-holder will work closely with Directorate Management Teams and operational leadership to ensure services are delivered effectively, aligned with wider clinical priorities, and integrated appropriately within NHS pathways.

The role will also focus onidentifying and developing new business opportunities, providing project leadership for the design, development and implementation of new services. This will include leading stakeholder engagement across clinical, operational and corporate teams to ensure services are clinically robust, operationally sustainable and commercially viable.

The post-holder will leadprivate patient business planningacross their portfolio, including the development of business cases and proposals for revenue or capital investment to support service growth and innovation.

They will also oversee theongoing review of service performance and quality, benchmarking Evelina London’s private services against competitors and sector best practice. Working with clinical and operational colleagues, they will use patient feedback, performance data and market insight to identify and deliver continuous service improvement.
