About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Technical Services Manager to lead Hard FM service delivery at a brand-new,state-of-the-art head office in Kingston for a market-leading global FMCG organisation.

This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing Mechanical& Electrical (M&E) and Building & Civil Engineering (B&CE)services, ensuring all planned and reactive maintenance activities aredelivered safely, efficiently and in full compliance with statutory,contractual and client requirements.

You will lead the on-site engineering team and maintain operational control of specialist subcontractors, ensuring technical services support a safe, reliable and high-performing workplace environment. The rolealso acts as the key operational interface between engineering teams, clientstakeholders and project teams.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Service Delivery

  • Lead and oversee the delivery ofHard FM services, ensuring operational excellence across mechanical, electrical and building engineering systems.
  • Maintain full oversight of critical equipment, plant and building systems to maximise operational availability.
  • Ensure all engineering activities comply with statutory regulations, client requirements and internal engineering standards.
  • Maintain and update engineering procedures, risk assessments and operating standards.

Operational Management

  • Manage planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance activities delivered by the engineering team and subcontractors.
  • Ensure safe working practices are maintained through effective use ofSafe Systems of Work, RAMS and LOTO procedures.
  • Act as part of the escalation response process during technical emergencies, including occasional out-of-hours support where required.
  • Lead technical investigations and implement improvements where necessary.

Team Leadership

  • Provide leadership, support and direction to the on-site team ofelectrical, mechanical and fabric technicians.
  • Prioritise resources and manage workloads to meet operational demands and service level agreements.
  • Set and maintain high professional and safety standards across the engineering team.
  • Deputise for theFM Account Leadwhen required.

Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Build strong relationships with the client and internal stakeholders.
  • Manage client expectations and ensure clear, timely communication on operational matters.
  • Act as the operational interface for bothclient-led and Sodexo-led projects, including contractor and cost management.
  • Provide technical advice on operational matters affectingOPEX and CAPEX budgets.

About You

Essential Experience & Qualifications

  • Engineering qualification atNVQ Level 4 or equivalentin a relevant discipline.
  • Strong knowledge ofengineering compliance, statutory regulations and best practice.
  • Proven experience deliveringplanned and reactive maintenance in a Hard FM environment.
  • Demonstrated experience managing engineering teams and subcontractors.
  • Strongproblem-solving and decision-making ability, particularly in high-pressure situations.
  • Experience ensuring compliance withHealth & Safety standards and safe systems of work.
  • IOSH Managing Safely(minimum).
  • Good IT skills, includingMicrosoft Office.

Desirable

  • Experience managing technical services withincorporate or high-end commercial environments.
  • Strong understanding ofcommercial contract management and P&L awareness.
  • Experience working withinTotal Facilities Management (TFM) contracts.
