Summary

Level 3 Early Years Practitioner – Key Person (Toddlers)

Salary: £26,984.40 per year
Hours: 40 hours per week
Working pattern: Monday – Thursday, 7:45am – 6:15pm (Friday non-working day)
Contract: Permanent, all year round (51 weeks)

About the Role
Charlie Caterpillars Day Nursery is looking for a caring and enthusiastic Level 3 Early Years Practitioner (Key Person) to join our toddler team.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting young children’s development and creating a nurturing, stimulating environment where children can thrive. You will work closely with colleagues and families to ensure every child receives high-quality care and learning opportunities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

Key Responsibilities
Take responsibility for a group of key children, supporting their learning, development, and wellbeing.
Observe, assess, and plan for children’s individual needs using the EYFS framework.
Maintain accurate learning records and development profiles.
Build strong partnerships with parents and carers, encouraging involvement in children’s learning.
Support children with additional needs and signpost families to specialist services where required.
Promote safeguarding, health and safety, and inclusive practice at all times.
Work collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals to support children and families.
Contribute to a positive, reflective team culture and continuous improvement of practice.

What We’re Looking For
Level 3 Early Years qualification (minimum).
Experience working within an EYFS setting, ideally with children aged birth to three.
Good understanding of child development and early childhood education.
Knowledge of safeguarding, SEND, and inclusive practice.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Passion for helping children achieve their best start in life.

Working Environment
Predominantly indoor work with regular time in the outdoor learning environment.

Additional Requirements
