Are you a strategic, influential leader with a passion for driving safe, highquality Neurological care? Join Elysium Healthcare as a Regional Director of Governance and Quality. You’ll join our Operational Senior Leadership Team and lead the delivery of governance, compliance and quality improvement across our services. You’ll lead a regional quality assurance and improvement team, ensuring their work is aligned to organisational goals and regulatory requirements while fostering a culture of continuous learning, excellence and accountability. Through expert guidance, coaching and mentoring, you will support colleagues to embed high standards of care and drive meaningful, sustainable improvements across the region. As a Regional Director of Governance and Quality, you will: Strategic Leadership in Governance and Quality Oversee and develop governance frameworks across the region, ensuring services are compliant with regulatory and organisational standards. Act as Chair for key governance (Neurological Region Clinical Governance & Neurological Care Homes Clinical Governance) and quality committees, driving alignment with strategic priorities and sharing best practices across the region & organisation. Quality Improvement and Assurance Lead the regional quality improvement strategy, using established QI methodologies to enhance service user care and outcomes. Implement and maintain quality assurance processes to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality services. Monitor compliance across all services, addressing gaps and ensuring continuous improvement. Champion initiatives to reduce restrictive practices, ensuring a focus on patient-centred care and improved outcomes. Line Management and Team Leadership Directly manage a team comprising of two Quality Leads and an Expert by Experience, ensuring clarity of roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations. Provide mentorship, professional development, and support to the team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. Actively involve the team in governance and QI initiatives, encouraging innovation and leadership at all levels. Ensure the Expert by Experience role is fully integrated into service development and governance, providing valuable insights and perspectives. Operational Oversight Provide governance and quality leadership for all services within the region. Work with registered managers and hospital directors along with regional teams to ensure robust governance systems and practices are embedded and operational. To be successful in this role, you will have: A Nursing degree and be registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC), or relevant experience related to this role Completion of the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) Improvement Advisor course or equivalent QI certification. PRINCE2 certification and advanced education in management or healthcare-related disciplines (e.g., Business Administration, Healthcare Operations). Strategic leadership with the ability to drive regional quality initiatives. Strong expertise in quality improvement and assurance methodologies. Exceptional people management skills, with a focus on coaching, mentoring, and team development. Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills at all levels. A commitment to embedding cultural and systemic improvements across the region. Extensive experience in governance, compliance, and quality improvement within the neurological or healthcare sector. Proven track record of leading regional governance and quality frameworks, with strong operational management experience in rehab services, care homes, MSUs and LSUs. Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams, particularly in governance and quality roles.
