About Us:

Our vision is simple – to ensure that all of our students achieve beyond our expectations and thrive as confident learners with
the highest aspirations, ready for a bright and successful future and ready for the world in which they will work and live. We are
relentless in our pursuit of the very best for all our students. We understand challenges but do not accept them as limitations.
Welling School is an all ability, co-educational 11-18 school, located in the London borough of Bexley. As well as serving our
local community we welcome students from a diverse range of backgrounds and areas. Each of them bringing their own part to make up
the Welling School Community. We are proud to be part of The Kemnal Academies Trust (TKAT) which is one of the largest Multi
Academy Trusts in South East England with over 40 Primary and Secondary Academies in the TKAT family. We are an ambitious school
on a transformational journey to excellence and are always looking for excellent potential colleagues to come and help us achieve
the very best for our students. See our website for further information about the school www.wellingschool-tkat.org

The Role:

We are looking to appoint an inspirational and dynamic colleague to join our team of committed and dedicated professionals who
will do whatever it takes to help our young people achieve great things - beyond expectations. As an ACE Tutor you will be working
with some of our most vulnerable learners and their families to offer personalised and bespoke support and guidance. You will work
hard to understand their individuality and help resolve barriers to their achievement - making a real difference to our students
and our community. Through regular and meaningful contact you will forge profitable and trusting relationships that inspire
confidence and help bridge the gap between school and home. You will know each child you work with as an individual and over time
learn what they need from us to help them achieve. It could be something as small as making sure they are equipped with all they
need to come to school or working with other professionals to develop their ambition and resilience for a successful future. No
two days will ever be the same - although they will always be rewarding and exciting. Your previous experience as a learning
support professional is less important to us than your clear vision on what can be achieved for our students and how we can
motivate and inspire them to achieve great things. Because you have a calm, personable and patient manner and because you are
creative, persistent and interested you will know why that is. Our new colleague will have an unstinting belief that every young
person, whatever their starting point or circumstances, can make and sustain exceptional progress and that our purpose is to
change lives. You will have access to on-going development opportunities and the support of a forward thinking, successful
multi-academy trust. You will be joining a team of strong and experienced staff who will do whatever it takes to help you to
succeed in your new and exciting role. As well as having a passion for young people and their futures our colleague will:

● be an approachable warm professional with the ability to foster excellent relationships

● be compassionate and able to understand people and their own contexts

● have a high level of emotional intelligence

● bring an unwavering commitment to doing whatever it takes

● have the ability to engage and inspire others

● be able to use data to prioritise and inform action planning

● be a resourceful problem solver

● To be tenacious and well organised with good time management

This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly ambitious team of staff and make a real impact on our students’ lives. Contact
and Application Information: Informal discussions with the Headteacher and/or visits are actively encouraged. If you would like an
informal and confidential discussion about the role and to arrange a visit to the school please email
recruitment@wellingschool-tkat.org

We regularly review applications and reserve the right to close an advert early if we identify suitable candidates.
