Summary
Royal Holloway is seeking an ambitious and strategic fundraising leader to become our next Head of Philanthropy. This role offers the chance to shape the University’s philanthropic priorities and secure the income that enables life‑changing student support, world‑class research, and impactful initiatives across our community.
As Head of Philanthropy, you will lead major gifts, regular giving and legacy fundraising, while managing and inspiring a high-performing team. You will cultivate relationships with major donors, trusts, foundations and corporate partners, create compelling fundraising propositions, and provide confident leadership on philanthropic strategy across the institution. You will work collaboratively with colleagues at all levels to build a strong culture of philanthropy, ensure excellent stewardship, and oversee effective pipeline management, financial planning and compliance.
We are looking for an experienced fundraiser with a strong track record of securing major gifts, who brings outstanding communication and relationship-building skills. You will be confident influencing senior stakeholders, navigating complex environments and representing the University externally. You will be highly organised, values-led, and adept at using data, insight and sound judgement to drive meaningful results. Knowledge of charitable giving, fundraising regulation and data protection is essential, as is a commitment to equity, inclusion and our University values.
