Serco is looking for Deck Rating (AB)
- Offshore Operations. The purpose of the AB is to act as the main labour force on board their appointed vessel. An AB will carry out a range of duties in the task of assisting in the safe operation of the vessel or the handling of its cargo.
Main Accountabilities:

- Berthing/Slipping of the Vessel.
- Ship Husbandry Tasks.
- Ship Operational Tasks.
- Cleaning Tasks as directed.
- Drive/operate deck machinery including cranes.
- Assist in repair and routine planned maintenance of ship’s equipment.
- Machinery care, routine maintenance and lubrication
- To be fully conversant with the use of all safety equipment, emergency procedures and contingency plans.
- Aware of the company Safety Management System
- specifically:
- Permit to Work/Tag Out Systems
- Shipboard Management Team
- Shipboard Safety Committee
- Be familiar with safety routines and ensure necessary safeguards are in place before any maintenance/repair work commences.
- Watch duties including navigational look-out and gangway watch

What you will need to do the role:

- MCA Certificate of Competency as an Able Seafarer
- STCW Personal Survival Techniques (5 Year Refresher Course)
- STCW Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities (5 Year Refresher Course)
- STCW Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting (5 Year Refresher Course)
- STCW Certificate of Proficiency in Survival Craft (5 Year Refresher Course)
- STCW Proficiency in Designated Security Duties (5 Year Refresher Course)
- STCW Elementary First Aid
- Unrestricted ENG1
- Must be a British National and British Passport holder


- Must be able to obtain SC clearance
