We are seeking a motivated Maths Teacher to join the Faculty of Mathematics in a Derby City secondary school. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and high-quality GCSE Maths lessons to learners aged 13-16, planning and adapting lessons to meet a range of abilities and learning needs. You will assess and monitor student progress, provide targeted support to help pupils achieve their potential, and create a positive classroom environment that promotes confidence in mathematics. Working closely with the wider Maths department, you will contribute to maintaining high standards of teaching and learning while supporting pupils to develop strong problem-solving and numeracy skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, deliver, and assess engaging GCSE maths lessons.
- Support learners in achieving their qualifications and targets.
- Provide constructive feedback and track learner progress.
- Prepare students for exams, assessments, and practical maths applications.
- Coordinate and book assessments across all maths courses.
- Maintain high standards in the delivery of all maths programmes.
- Keep up to date with curriculum developments, assessment specifications, and best practice in maths education.

- A genuine passion for teaching maths and inspiring learners to achieve their potential.
- Strong maths knowledge, with higher-level qualifications in mathematics.
- Experience in Secondary or FE teaching is advantageous, but enthusiasm, adaptability, and a learner-focused approach are equally valued.
- Highly organised, flexible, and committed to supporting students' progress and confidence in maths.
- Ability to create engaging, accessible lessons that make maths relevant and enjoyable for all learners.
