We are recruiting Teaching Assistants to work within secondary schools in Barking, supporting students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
With multiple roles available, responsibilities may include 1:1 SEN support for individual students or working across year groups supporting learning in a range of subjects. Schools are particularly keen to hear from candidates with a background in SEN, although this is not essential for the right candidate.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain experience in education, with the potential for the role to become permanent for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support for students with additional learning needs where required
- Support students across year groups in a variety of subjects
- Assist teachers with lesson delivery and classroom organisation
- Promote engagement, confidence and positive learning behaviours
- Support students both academically and pastorally
- Work collaboratively with SEN and pastoral teams
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience working with young people or within an education setting (desirable)
- A background in SEN support (a strong advantage)
- A patient, proactive and adaptable approach
- Confidence working in a secondary school environment
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Understanding of safeguarding and inclusive practice
