Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a new operative to work within a small, friendly, crucial service as part of the Street Scene department.

The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of looking after the Councils toilet facilities and depots across the South Hams area ensuring they are clean and look their best for everyone to enjoy. Typical tasks include litter picking, mopping, sweeping, dusting, restocking, cleaning surfaces, hoovering, and liaising with the public in this key public facing role.

The shift pattern is four days on four days off, you will be driving from site to site in a small van and you will be required to be flexible with the routes being assigned to you, depending on the days focus and needs.

The applicant must be hardworking, able to work on their own initiative and within a team. You will enjoy working outdoors in all weather conditions, be physically fit, have good communications skills and appreciate job satisfaction and completion.

Full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and training will be provided as part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining and improving a competent workforce. As part of our flexible approach you may be required to work anywhere within South Hams and West Devon but will operate out of one of our depots: Ivybridge, Torr Quarry or Totnes.
