Emma is a 13-year-old girl with autism, learning difficulties, and a pending diagnosis of ADHD. Emma suffered a stroke when she was born which has resulted in epilepsy caused by a brain injury. Emma struggles with transitions and she can sometimes present with challenging behaviour as a result, but she is very sociable and friendly. She is vulnerable and therefore needs close supervision, and while epilepsy training will be provided, this is currently well managed.
I am looking for a kind, caring PA who has experience working with children with special needs.
Emma enjoys, swimming and trampolining, iPad, playing games and crafts, going to Teal Farm Pub and outdoor activities if the weather is nice.
Brief details of the job:
Support and/or prompt the Emma to access sporting and leisure activities.
Assist and encourage socialisation, participating in activities
Promote and encourage friendships and independence.
Develop a good and trusting one to one working relationship
Emma’s needs may vary from day to day, and your tasks may reflect this. You could be required to perform other duties as reasonably required.
