About The Role
The Safeguarding and Disclosure Response Adviser role is fundamental to our Multi-disciplinary Safeguarding and Disclosure Response Team, consisting of Professional Service Staff who provide a service to students who have experienced violence and abuse, including Domestic Violence, Sexual Violence, Harassment / Stalking, Hate Crime or other forms of inappropriate behaviour that they feel has violated their dignity.
Offer appointments for students impacted by violence and abuse, providing high quality practical support, guidance and risk mitigation to safeguard all parties, using a trauma informed approach. This will include all students who have self-referred or referred to the service as a significant concern, from within or external to the organisation.
Advisors offer students practical support and guidance regarding recording an initial disclosure, signposting to specialist support and exploring reporting options. Additionally assisting students understand how the university can assist them with any practical, financial, and academic needs and advising of any potential safeguarding concerns that may need to be addressed.
