Summary
The Health Care Assistant will work under the direct supervision of the Practice Nurse and strictly in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols, the Health Care Assistant will assist the practice clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care. Duties and Responsibilities include** A range of health checks ECG recording Blood pressure monitoring Phlebotomy Spirometry Wound care Smoking cessation Weight management Chaperoning duties Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs/Nurses Summarising of paper records and read coding of clinical letters Sterilising, cleansing and maintenance of surgical equipment Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording Ordering of clinical stocks and equipment. Managing clinical waste. Surgical equipment and vaccine re-stocking and stock rotation Cleaning and re-stocking consulting rooms **(this list is not inclusive of all job roles and responsibilities but an example of the type of duties that will need to be performed)
