Summary

ban Sheriff Court are looking for an Administrative Officer to join them on a full time permanent basis.

The Key Responsibilities

To undertake a number of general administrative duties including:

Processing and distributing incoming mail to colleagues which comprises of writs, summonses, simplified divorces, enquiries and other documents.
Creating and updating records on our in-house computer system and data input
Producing court documents
Preparing files for court hearings
General photocopying and filing
Dealing with numerical calculations
Accounting for monies in accordance with financial guidelines
Undertake light portering duties as required

Additionally you:

Will have regular contact with court users, including members of the Judiciary and the legal profession. As such you be required to competently answer queries giving consistent and reliable advice.


Will work within a team with regular management support and will be responsible for your own time.


May be required to provide advice to colleagues and carry out limited supervision of others.


Will assist with preparing statistical information and other returns to ensure standards of work meet the agreed level.


Will assist in clearing up of criminal courts by preparing court minutes, issuing letters, ordering reports and filing complaints as necessary.


Will process and enter fine payments onto computer system and reconcile at month end.
