Summary
Are you passionate about sports and inspiring the next generation? We are seeking an enthusiastic Graduate Sports Assistant to join our vibrant PE department for a one-year fixed-term contract. This is an ideal first role for someone with a degree in Sports Science or a related field and experience in teaching or coaching sports lessons, particularly with children.
What You’ll Do:
• Support the delivery of a diverse and engaging PE programme across all school age groups.
• Coach and officiate sports teams, with a focus on football, hockey, netball, cricket, and tennis.
• Assist in practical PE lessons and Outdoor Learning activities.
• Provide administrative support to the PE department.
• Help foster inclusivity and a positive sporting culture throughout the school.
What We’re Looking For:
• A degree in Sports Science (or similar) or current placement/paid internship in a similar course.
• Experience in teaching or coaching sports lessons, especially with children.
• Coaching or umpiring qualifications in football, hockey, tennis, cricket, or athletics (highly desirable).
• A football or hockey specialist would be a bonus!
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google applications.
• Flexibility to support fixtures at home, away, and at weekends.
Skills and Attributes:
• Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Strong organisation and time management.
• Ability to help make lessons fun and engaging for all levels, with a focus on differentiation.
• Proactive, responsible, and a strong team player.

Work schedule and PayPlease note that this is a term-time only role for one academic year. The advertised salary has been pro-rated and will be paid over 12 months. You will be paid for 36 hours a week working Monday to Friday with some out of hours work to support sport fixtures and other department run events. Details may be discussed at interview.
