BSL Teacher - Specialist Provision
Woodford | £180-£250 per day | Full Time | Immediate Start
We are currently recruiting for a qualified BSL Teacher to join a supportive and inclusive school in Woodford. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with deaf and hearing-impaired pupils, supporting their communication, learning and development in a specialist educational environment.
The school is looking for a confident and experienced teacher who can deliver engaging lessons while using British Sign Language (BSL) to support pupils' access to the curriculum.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver engaging lessons using British Sign Language (BSL) to support deaf and hearing-impaired pupils
* Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of pupils with additional learning needs
* Work closely with support staff, teaching assistants and the SEN team
* Promote inclusive learning and positive classroom engagement
* Monitor and track pupil progress to ensure strong educational outcomes
* Support pupils' communication, confidence and independence
Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification
* BSL qualification (Level 2 or above preferred)
* Experience working with deaf or hearing-impaired students
* Strong understanding of inclusive and differentiated teaching practices
* Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)
