Summary

SEN LEARNING SUPPORT BUDDY

Start: ASAP | Full‑time | £14+ per hour | Temp‑to‑Perm Opportunities

A specialist school in Totton is looking for caring, patient, and resilient SEN Learning Support Buddies to join their team. You'll be supporting children and young people aged 2-19 with severe, profound, and complex learning difficulties, many of whom also have Autism, Down Syndrome, sensory needs, physical disabilities, or significant communication challenges.

This is a deeply rewarding role where you'll help pupils feel safe, understood, and able to thrive. What You'll Be Doing
- Providing personalised, consistent support to pupils with complex learning needs
- Supporting children with Autism, Down Syndrome, sensory needs, physical disabilities, and non‑verbal communication
- Helping deliver creative, therapeutic, sensory‑based, and inclusive learning activities
- Promoting emotional wellbeing, safety, and positive engagement throughout the school day
- Assisting with daily routines, communication, emotional regulation, and developing independence
- Using clear, consistent communication to build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and families

Role Details
- Location: Totton
- Position: SEN Learning Support Buddy
- Start Date: ASAP
- Contract: Full‑time, temp‑to‑perm routes available
- Hours: 08:45 - 15:20
- Pay: From £14 per hour

✔️ What You Need
- Right to Work in the UK
- Enhanced Child Barred List DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
- Professional references covering the last 24 months, ideally involving children or vulnerable individuals
- Level 2/3 qualification in childcare, education, health & social care or relevant SEN experience
