Job Purpose:I am a 30-year-old woman with Down syndrome and a learning disability. I suffered a stroke which led to a significant decline in my mobility. I am looking for an additional carer to join my team of Personal Assistants to cover for absences. Job will include supporting me with daily routines, personal care and hygiene, dressing, grooming and transfers such as moving between my bed, wheelchair for example.With your support I would like to take part in activities like cooking, and drink preparation. Help with cleaning and keeping my environment tidy and free of hazards. I will also need your support with attending my rehabilitation and hospital appointments.Supported activities and going out and about in the community. I like all sorts of activities: bowling, going to the cinema, out and about. I love good food, music, dancing, colouring, painting, having coffee and a chat.You will help me to regain some of my independence and build my confidence.Location: NR10Details:Personal care including hygiene tasks.Support with cooking.Cleaning and keeping home tidy.Support with attending appointments.Supported activities and help with regaining independence and building confidence.Person specificationEssential:Female due to the personal care element.Caring and empathetic.Approachable and kind.Summary terms and conditions:· The rate of pay for this position is £12.38 per hour· Hours and times of work: up to 10 hours per day, Monday to Friday between 08:30 and 18:30 and 2 hours per day Saturday and Sunday. Exact days and times advised in advance. Job share with small team of PAs.· The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work I would normally expect to be done during 5.6 consecutive weeks.· This position requires the employee to complete the following free annual training: GDPR, Health and Safety, Food Hygiene, COSHH, Moving and Handling, Personal Care. Post is subject to the following:· A satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer.· Satisfactory references from two referees, one of which must be your current or last employer.· Completion of a satisfactory probationary period of 6 months.
