Summary

Pinnacle Group are looking to recruit an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to carry out a variety of repair, maintenance and installation tasks across our school PFI contracts, while also providing day‑to‑day supervision and coordination of a team of Maintenance Engineers and attending contractors. In this hands‑on role, you will deliver a high standard of technical work across multiple trades and ensure that all contractors complete repair and replacement activities safely, efficiently and in line with contractual requirements.

The ideal candidate will be a competent tradesperson with experience across several disciplines, including plumbing, basic electrical work, carpentry, painting and general property upkeep and be experienced in a supervisory role.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead, support, and coordinate the onsite maintenance team and external contractors, ensuring all works are completed to specification, on schedule, and in line with safety standards.
  • Allocate daily tasks, set priorities, and ensure efficient workflow management across maintenance activities.
  • Conduct regular inspections of buildings, equipment, and facilities to identify faults, hazards, and maintenance needs.
  • Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations, risk assessments, and organisational policies.
  • Oversee and carry out a range of maintenance tasks including plumbing repairs (fixing leaks, replacing taps, clearing blockages), electrical work (replacing lighting, installing sockets, fault-finding), carpentry tasks (repairing doors, installing shelving, assembling and building furniture), and general decorating and repair works.


Key requirements:

  • Proven experience as a multi-skilled tradesperson, competent in plumbing, basic electrical work, carpentry, painting and general property maintenance
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Strong problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail
  • Relevant qualifications in plumbing or electrical work are highly desirable
  • Previous experience in managing contractors and works projects
