Thrive on variety? We need your expertise.

Are you a qualified teacher who loves the classroom but wants to leave the planning and marking behind? We are looking for a General Cover Teacher to support our partner secondary schools in Tamworth. This is the perfect role for someone who can walk into any classroom, command attention, and deliver a high-quality lesson across any subject.

Whether you are covering a morning of Humanities or an afternoon of Art, you are the professional who ensures the school day runs smoothly and students stay on track.

What's in it for you?

  • Total Flexibility: Choose the days you want to work. Perfect for work-life balance or fitting around other commitments.
  • No "Take-Home" Work: Walk out at the end of the day with no marking, no planning, and no data entry.
  • Weekly Pay: Competitive daily rates paid every Friday via Randstad.
  • Networking: Get to know various schools in the Tamworth area great way to find a permanent "home" if you choose to later on.

The Ideal "Classroom Lead"

We want to hear from you if you:

  • Are Qualified: You hold QTS or QTLS (Early Career Teachers are welcome!).
  • Are Adaptable: You can quickly digest a lesson plan and deliver it with confidence, regardless of the subject.
  • Have Presence: You have excellent classroom management skills and can build a quick rapport with students you've just met.
  • Are Reliable: You are punctual, professional, and ready to hit the ground running.

Your Core Responsibilities

  • Deliver: Follow the set work left by the permanent teacher, ensuring students understand and complete the tasks.
  • Manage: Maintain high standards of behaviour in line with the school's policy.
  • Support: Offer 1:1 or group assistance to students who need extra help with the set work.
  • Liaise: Leave a clear handover note for the returning teacher so they know exactly how the students progressed.
