Summary

SEND Teaching Assistant | Empower Every Learner

Role: SEND Teaching Assistant (1:1 and Small Group)

Location: Tamworth & Surrounding Areas

Salary: £90 - £100 Per Day

Contract: Fixed Term

Can you be the difference in a student's day?

Every child deserves a champion-someone who never gives up on them and understands that progress looks different for everyone. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to support students with a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, and SEMH.

This isn't just about helping with schoolwork; it's about building confidence, managing anxieties, and celebrating the "small wins" that make a massive impact on a young person's life.

What's in it for you?

  • Rewarding Work: Experience the genuine joy of seeing a student overcome a barrier because of your support.
  • Weekly Pay: Competitive rates paid every Friday via Randstad.
  • Expert Training: Access to specialised CPD, including Team-Teach, Autism Awareness, and de-escalation strategies.
  • Consistency: Most of our SEND roles are long-term, providing you with a stable routine and the chance to build real bonds.

The Ideal "Mentor"

We want to hear from you if you:

  • Are Empathetic: You have a "person-first" approach and can see the world through a student's eyes.
  • Are Resilient: You stay calm under pressure and can handle challenging behaviour with a professional, de-escalating approach.
  • Have Experience: Previous experience with SEND (in schools, care, or personal life) is highly desirable.
  • Are a Communicator: You can work effectively with teachers, parents, and external therapists to follow EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) targets.

Your Core Responsibilities

  • Support: Work 1:1 or in small groups to make the curriculum accessible (e.g., using visual timetables or sensory breaks).
  • Nurture: Help students develop social skills and emotional regulation.
  • Observe: Keep track of progress against EHCP goals and provide feedback to the SENCO.
  • Safeguard: Maintain a safe, inclusive environment where every student feels valued.
