The Wales & Western FrameworkYou'll be joining our team working on the Wales & Western Framework, one of Network Rail's key regional programmes.
This framework focuses on:
-Maintaining, renewing, and improving critical buildings and stations infrastructure
-Enhancing safety, performance, and sustainability on the Western and Wales routes
-Delivering buildings, and civils projects that support reliable journeys for millions of passengers, from New Stations, to bridges, to re-wiring of existing station, you will be exposed to a vast work bank of both renewals and enhancements projects.
The framework is fast‑paced, collaborative, and deeply rooted in long‑term relationships with Network Rail and supply chain partners. As an apprentice, you'll gain exposure to live rail environments, real engineering challenges, and multidisciplinary teamwork across a region known for its diversity of assets and terrain.

What You'll Be DoingAs an Apprentice Engineer, you'll support key functions across the Wales & Western Framework. You will:
-Gain hands‑on experience on live sites
-Assist with setting out, record keeping and cost control
-Support method statements and work package documentation
-Conduct site visits and surveys
-Contribute to design reviews and estimating
-Learn how projects are safely and efficiently delivered
-Take on supervised responsibility as your confidence grows
-Uphold our high standards in health, safety, wellbeing, and quality
Travel or short periods away from home may be required from time to time.
Who You'll Work WithRelationships matter. You will work closely with:
-Site Managers and Engineers
-Planners, Designers and Commercial teams
-Supply chain partners
-Local communities and stakeholders

About YouWe're looking for enthusiastic and curious individuals who:
-Have achieved Grade 4 or above in English and Maths
-Have (or are on track to achieve) the UCAS points needed for a Degree Level Apprenticeship
-Communicate well and enjoy collaborating with others
-Are proactive problem‑solvers with an eagerness to learn
-Adapt quickly and take pride in the quality of their work

-A passion for engineering and continuous learning
-Strong organisational and communication skills
-A detail‑driven, methodical approach
-GCSE Grade 4+ in Maths and English
-The UCAS requirements for a Degree Level Apprenticeship
-A full UK driving licence (preferred)
