Summary


The successful applicant will join the NBT Neurospine team. The team currently comprises of five Orthopaedic Spine surgeons and five Neurosurgical trained Spine surgeons.

The postholder will be responsible for the management of complex spinal conditions under their care.

Applicants should have a CCT or be within six months of achieving this at the date of interview or be listed on the GMC’s specialist register to be eligible for application for a substantive post. CESR applicants are welcome and must have their CESR in place at the time of interview.

The successful candidate is expected to carry out independently and competently complex spine surgery and ideally to be able to provide support with the treatment of intradural spinal conditions. As such it is essential that the successful candidate has a Neurosurgical trained background. The successful candidate must liaise with consultant colleagues regarding the continuity of care of when the postholder is absent.

As part of a large, collaborative department, the postholder will work closely with consultant colleagues to maintain high standards of care, actively engage in MDTs, audit, teaching, and service development, and support the wider aims of the department and the South West Neurosurgical Network.
