The Company:
Our client is a successful logistics provider backed by in-house Air & Sea LCL consolidation services, a dedicated warehouse facility in Ipswich, and their own fleet of modern trucks. As their customer base expands, they're strengthening their operations team in Preston with another skilled professional.
The Shipping Operations Role: What You’ll Be Doing
As the Shipping Operations Person, you’ll play a key role in coordinating and delivering seamless freight operations, including:
• Managing a busy LCL sea freight operation
• Overseeing European road freight movements
• Handling bookings, documentation, and customer communications
• Coordinating with carriers, customers, and internal teams
• Ensuring smooth day-to-day operational flow in a fast-paced environment
• This is a hands-on role where accuracy, communication, and calm under pressure are essential.
Skills & Experience
• Proven experience in shipping operations
• Background in LCL sea freight and/or European road freight preferred
• Strong communication skills, written and verbal
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Must have legal right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
