Join our dynamic team atColchester Hospital and become the first point of contact for a wide range of essential services across the hospital. In this customer focused Helpdesk role, you'll respond to calls and emails with professionalism and efficiency, coordinating services such as portering, transport, security, housekeeping, catering, and more. Your proactive approach will ensure seamless communication, timely task management, and excellent patient and staff support. If you’re organised, approachable, and committed to delivering outstanding service in a busy healthcare environment, this is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful difference.
What you’ll do:
- Handle external and internal queries, providing complex or sensitive non clinical information and passing messages promptly
- Use initiative to resolve routine and some non routine problems, escalating only complex issues to the appropriate person
- Maintain accurate, up to date data in all relevant systems and contribute to the ongoing development of the Facilities Helpdesk
- Follow departmental procedures, operate office equipment, and ensure the safe use of Helpdesk equipment and headsets during calls
- Ensure compliance with equality, diversity, health and safety policies, and promote a safe, inclusive, and respectful working environment
- Contribute to continuous improvement by participating in training, developing new practices, and incorporating new technology
- Support environmental sustainability efforts by reducing carbon footprint through proactive actions and resource management
What you bring:
- Experience of working in a customer focused environment
- The ability to work as a part of a team and to collaborate and build relationships with peers and client representatives.
- Must be a team player, who will assist and support colleagues.
- Must be able to use initiative, be efficient and organised with a strategic approach to problem solving.
- Must live within an acceptable travelling time of the hospital and be able to work shifts, must have the ability to work additional hours.
- Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
- NVQ in Customer Service
- Previous work in an NHS/Healthcare environment or understanding Customer Services within a hospital environment
