About the role
Pay Details: Grade 5, SCP 8-12, £26,824 - £28,598 Pro Rata £13.90 - £14.82 Per Hour
Hours of Work / Working Pattern: 37 hours a week
Main Place of Work: Penarth Library – Sully, Wenvoe and Dinas Powys
Description:
he Vale of Glamorgan Library Service supports five Community Libraries that are run by volunteers. The post involves supporting the volunteers in the day to day running of the Community Libraries in Sully, Wenvoe and Dinas Powys and resolving routine issues as they occur. The post will also involve providing training for volunteers in the day-to-day processes and procedures necessary for the smooth working of the Community Library and acting as point of contact between the Community Library and the Vale of Glamorgan Library Service.
About you
You will need:
• Good knowledge of books and other library resources
• Confident in using ICT and electronic resources and assisting and training others in their use
• Good working knowledge of current library systems, practices and procedure
• Excellent interpersonal and team working skills
• Minimum of 5 GCSEs at grades A-C, including English or NVQ level 2 in Library & Information Services or at least 3 years working in a library
• Ability to drive/travel throughout the Vale or between locations as appropriate
