Summary
Assistant Management Accountant
Location: Chesterfield
Hours: 37.5 per week (8:45am–5:15pm, flexible start times available)
Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 (DOE)
We’re supporting a well‑established Automotive Dealer Group in Chesterfield who are looking to appoint an Assistant Management Accountant. This is a specialist role focused on key balance sheet areas, complex reconciliations and high‑volume data work. It’s ideal for someone who enjoys accuracy, structure and getting into the detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the fixed asset register, including additions, disposals, depreciation and annual asset audits across multiple sites
- Complete quarterly VAT reconciliations and ensure accurate VAT processing through the ledger
- Reconcile manufacturer/bonus income, monitor outstanding debts and support month‑end reporting
- Handle service plan reconciliations, including refunds, top‑ups and complex data analysis
- Investigate unreceived costs and vehicle cost accruals, liaising with sites to resolve queries
- Support year‑end processes and assist with stock checks
What We’re Looking For
- Previous accounts experience
- Strong understanding of VAT and VAT returns
- Excellent reconciliation experience, especially with large data sets
- Advanced Excel skills
- High attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
- Able to work independently while supporting the wider finance team
Working Hours & Flexibility
- 37.5 hours per week (7.5 hours per day)
- Standard hours: 8:45am – 5:15pm with 1‑hour lunch
- Flexible start times available (earliest 8am)
