MAIN DUTIES continued fro above: To assist in clinical trials, audits and research into ME/CFS/FMS and future management. Provide a nurse-led telephone clinic. Assessing patient needs and requirements and acting accordingly. To contribute to the development of services for people with ME/CFS/FMS. Participate in Multidisciplinary assessment clinics. Maintain skills and experience in management of epilepsy services and facilitate the implementation of the UCLH Nursing & Midwifery strategy. To review ME/CFS/FMS nursing practice and implement appropriate changes based on research/best practice. Develop and implement Audit, Quality and Risk Management initiatives within the ME/CFS/FMS service. Participate in a programme of self-development, clinical supervision and individual performance review (IPR). Work within the guidelines established by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) including The Code and Scope of Professional Practice and all Trust guidelines. Promote and maintain effective communication. The Royal London Hospital for Integrated Medicine (RLHIM) is a centre for evidence-based practice, education and research, specialising in chronic and complex medical conditions. Our mission is to provide a person-centred, holistic approach, including self-care, in order to help people with chronic and complex medical conditions live well and feel better. Our approach considers the whole person and their environment in the quest for optimal health and wellbeing. In order to achieve this, we provide a combination of lifestyle strategies, medical, physical and psychological treatment, as well as advice on safe and appropriate use of complementary therapies. We also deliver and encourage self-care approaches which can continue to be used by patients after discharge. All RLHIM services are outpatient-based and are staffed by experienced healthcare professionals. A list of clinical services can be found at www.uclh.nhs.uk/rlhim. The post-holder will join the ME/CFS and Fibromyalgia service. This service provides multidisciplinary treatment pathways for adult patients with these complex, chronic medical conditions and is the largest such services in London and the South-East. The service incorporates physician care (a Specialist Physician and Specialty Doctors), occupational therapy, physiotherapy, psychology (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Committment Therapy, Trauma-focused Therapy, EMDR, Mindfulness, Autogenic Training), dietetics and Western Medical acupuncture (for chronic pain).
