Summary

We are recruiting a Procurement Officer at Caerphilly County Borough Council.

Working hours: 37 Hours (7.24 Monday – Friday)
Contract Type: Full Time, Fixed Term until 31st March 2028
Location: Ty Penallta

Team: Procurement and Information Services

This position offers an excellent opportunity to become part of our team and provide support across the organization.

We pay an attractive salary of £35,412 - £38,220 and offer access to training and development opportunities.

Under the general direction of the Procurement and Information Services Manager and Principal Procurement Officer, the post holder will be responsible for assisting in the procurement of EdTech products and services for schools in Wales in accordance with procurement legislation and Caerphilly CBC governance processes and procedures.

The postholder will assist with securing significant cost savings and added value by aggregating demand on a national basis, promoting and driving market competition and developing strategic market insight.

You will be responsible for implementing the Council’s standing orders for contracts, procurement strategy, corporate objectives and advocating local & national policies & initiatives.

For the role, we ask that you have:

1. 5 GCSEs Grade A* – C or qualifications set at a similar level on the Credit and Qualifications Framework.
2. IT literate with knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software packages.
3. A minimum of 12 months experience in a large purchasing organisation.
4. A Full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business / work purposes to travel throughout the borough to visit Council offices which are not on bus routes to attend meetings and support service areas.
